Messing around with nails

Sophia used a navy blue maybelline express finish nail varnish with different colours and effects over the top and came up with this. I used Barry m's and opi's rally pretty Pink to make this rose gold effect. I'm not entirely sure I like this colour on my nails I think I will have to wear it with certain outfits to make it look right. 

I'm looking for the perfect rose gold colour and if anyone has any recommendations I would be grateful. 

Lesley on another two bites the dust

Well well well, another 2 makeup products down and about a gillion to go! I think I've done pretty darn well not buying any makeup, but my wish list is growing! Also i have asked for a lighter tinted moisturiser sample, which i don't think is really cheating (on my terms anyway) Let's get down to business.

Barry M Limited Edition Lipgloss 3mls - Colour unknown

I'm quite disappointed that this colour has (almost) finished. I didn't finish it because 1) i couldn't get to the end and 2) i wanted to show you a hint of colour it once was. Its quite a transparent candy floss nudey pink (might be called Nearly Nude) which is perfect for me for day wear. It also has the most gorgeous toffee smell and i just want to eat it! I would purchase again and although they are limited edition, i think they are still selling them when you buy it with an Impulse body spray HERE its for £3.00 which i don't actually think is that bad for a lipgloss AND a spray. I'd love to buy other Barry M colours too as i have always stuck to their nail varnishes and not much else.

I took off the 'stopper' by teasing it out with scissors, but you can also use a butter knife. It got me a little bit of product lurking from the top, but ill have to use half a cotton bud to fish the ends out - yes i hate throwing away makeup that still have the products in them!

 Avon Lip Lip Balm Conditoner

My mum bought this lip balm ahhhges ago and i took it from her, it was literally years ago and really should have been binned by now. It looks white and scary in the stick but it is a gorgeous pearly pink with a bit of shimmery particles, which i like a lot. Its more like a primer though that a balm as it doesn't nourish my lips quite so much. Also i like to put it under the Barry M for a bit more sheen, and it makes my lipgloss last longer. I want to look for another one like this but maybe try a different brand, such as the new Carmex range. Its one of those products you just want to hurry up and get rid of but can't bin at the same time!

Colour doesn't show up on my lips, its actually not as transparent as this in real life, but wanted to show you the nice sheen it gives off, i think this is perfect for day to day use as i don't want to have too much makeup on for work. It reminds me of my MAC's 'Nice Buzz' which will be my replacement.

That's it for now, which brings it to 3 makeup products and 2hair/ body products. Hopefully i'll have another few products to post in the next week as I'm making good use of my products. Also, i did finish a few of my sachets that have been lurking around but i didn't think it counted as they were tiny things

Ooooo so pretty and pink! I was drawn to the bright pink colour in the tube and its soo bright. It smells like amazing sweets, its a certain sweet ive had before but i cant remember the name dam it. In photos it comes out more pale pink with a cooler undertone for some reason but if you like barbie pink pale lips i would suggest this for you.

Loreal Colour Appeal 151 pure gold £6.99

This is what i originally went in boots for! Its shimmery gold without being over glittery. Either a light application or heavy looks really good. Slightly over priced and im sure i wont repurchase because i doubt ill ever use the whole thing.

Second time ive bought this. Its a cheap mascara that works really well. I do alot of coats with any mascara, im guessing 10? It does dry fast so it can get clumpy but i think its really good for 6 quid.

They have beautiful original shades that are perfect for any season or occasion, and they are always on trend when bringing out new colours.  The retail price is £2.99 but Boots and Superdrug are always doing a 2 for £5 offer so i normally buy them then.

Strawberry Icecream

Strawberry Icecream is a bit on the thin and transparent side so i tend to put it on quite thick and apply two coats, as well as the Sally Henson's 4 in 1 base coat and top coat. It tends to dry quite slowly in comparison to other Barry M's, so i wouldn't use this on a night out if I'm in a hurry to do my nails. However, it is a gorgeous pastel pink perfect for summer days or when you're feeling girlie. 

 

Berry Icecream

This is one of my favourite Barry M shades of all time. Its a gorgeous light lavender colour perfect for summer or to cheer you up during depressing dark winter days. I have used this colour the most out of my collection, as i think it looks nice with olive skin, but it is now starting to go thick and gloopy as I've had it for so long: i have to keep putting in a little bit of nail varnish remover to thin it out before each use. I'll be buying my second one very soon. When its not old and running out, the texture is very smooth and with two applications it is very opaque. It also doesn't take long to dry at all. However, after two days of wearing it a couple of my nails will be chipped at the top, even with a top coat. In comparison to Strawberry Icecream the textures are different, i would say this one was much better. I am yet to try out the other two in the Icecream collection: Blueberry and Lemon.

Shocking Pink

Shocking Pink is such a gorgeous bright colour. I love wearing this when I'm wearing a black dress or anything plain on a night out, to give my outfit a boost of colour. It is such a lovely summer colour and looks really good with a tan. You only have to apply two coats before it becomes opaque

Lesley - Review of top ten

 1) W7 bronzer - Now I'm a huge fan of bronzer and I've bought every type from the cheapest to the most expensive. Although this is a value-for-your-money bronzer, the results are amazing and the colours are beautiful. It comes in a cute leopard print like pattern with pinks and browns, and also contains a brush (i use a separate brush though) I use it on my face, chest and shoulders and had many compliments on a number of occasions that I've worn it. You can buy it from amazon from £3.99.

2) Stila eyeshadow in Nando Devi - I bought a bunch of makeup on a cheap website (cheapsmells) and i found that the dark brown matte was perfect for my eyebrows. I use Benefit's Speed Brow eye gel to set the shape and then use a tiny amount of eyeshadow to fill in the gaps.

3) MAC eyeshadows- I bought a MAC pro palette for £11.50 and have been adding refill eyeshadows to my collection every couple of months. I love that you can pick and choose what colours you want to add (£9.50 each) to the palette. Also the colours go on so vibrantly and strong and last for hours, even on a night out! They are 1.5g, but you only have to use a little bit to make your eyes pop so it looks like I've hardly used any, when in fact i use them often on special occasions! 4) Boots No 7 Amazing eye pencil - I always get this eye pencil when they are on offer with a £5 off voucher from Boots, they are normally £7.75 but with the voucher its £2.75, which is think is pretty darn good! There are two different ends, one for the pencil and the other is a smudger, to create a smokey effect and not make your eyes look so sharp. I love that the pencil is so soft and creamy so that you don't have to drag it on your eyes at all. The only disadvantage of this is that it does 'bleed' a little bit, especially when I'm tired, but i don't think there is an eye liner that doesn't melt. Also, because it is so soft, i have to sharpen the pencil often.

5) MAC prep + prime - After trial and error with eye primers, i found this creamy texture was perfect for my eyes. It goes on smoothly and keeps my eyeshadow on for hours without creasing. Its 5g a pot and looks like its hardly been used -  although I've been using it for months, so it will last a very long time! I bought mine from America as it is a tiny bit cheaper but you can get them for £12.00 from mac. More about prep and prime HERE

6) Natural collection eyeshadow in Milk Chocolate - This is my most used eyeshadow, and it is SO CHEAP! It is £1.79 or 3 for £5 from Boots, and it is sooo value for money. After the primer, i use "milk chocolate" as a base eyeshadow before applying my actual colour. If I'm going for a natural daytime look i will just use this eyeshadow on its own as it has great pigment and brings out the green in my hazel eyes. My skin tone matches really well and the pot lasted me ages. The packaging is cute and simple and focuses mainly on the colour, which i like. I'm almost onto my second pot now.

 

7) MAC mascara - I LOVE THIS MASCARA! I find it really hard to find a good mascara, especially one that doesn't clump (i hate that!) So when the MAC website was down and i ordered an eyeshadow, i got the mascara free and i am now onto my second tube.

8) Guerlain bronzing powder 10g - This is definetly the most expensive piece of makeup i own, but it was so worth it! It always looks like i have a gorgeous natural glow all year round. I use a kabuki brush and "dab" so that too much isn't on the brush. If you overload the brush you look like you have a deeply tanned face with a white body! You can buy it for £33.00 from Debhenams.

9) Benefit You Rebel in dark 50mls - I don't like using foundation as it's quite heavy on my skin. So the tinted moisturiser is perfect for me, its not too shiny or dry and it lasts a full working day and night out. Plus it has SPF 15 to protect you from damaging rays. It comes in two shades: light and dark. I use the dark as i have a tanned complexion and i use a blob and apply it with a foundation brush. I think I'm going to be onto my fourth tube. The only disadvantage of this product is that it takes a little while to sink into my face, so it looks quite shiny when I've first applied it.

I apply it onto my hand first to warm it up as it blends into the face better 

 

10) Barry M Dazzle Dust - I have so many of these in all different colours! The pots are so value for your money as you only use a tiny bit with your finger or a brush. Reviews to come
